Up to 20 Homes Burned Down Overnight on Flathead Lake

The Boulder fire rages at Finley Point last night, burning down homes around the lake and shutting down Highway 35.

Reports are coming in that up to 20 homes burned down last night along Flathead Lake as current estimates are that the fire has grown to 1,150 acres as of this afternoon. Some reports on Facebook are saying up to 40 homes have been lost.

CSKT Fire released this statement Sunday morning:

“Highway 35 is closed at the highway 93, highway 35 junction on the south end and at mile marker 15 on the north end. An evacuation order is in place from mile marker 6 to 13 on highway 35 and all of Finley Point. Multiple structures have been lost last night and into the early morning. Aviation resources are continuing to drop retardant and water on this fire. A Northern Rockies Type 2 team has been assigned to this fire and will be in briefed in the next day or two. The cause of this fire is under investigation.

The cause of the fire is believed to be human, but is still under investigation.
